episode 81 :: business as usual

Posted by Phil on August 19th, 2011

I’m back after nearly a two month leave of absence with a good excuse for not being around. My first real Brazilian BBQ experience back in June resulted in one of the greatest treats on earth – Pão de queijo, a Brazilian take on classic French Gougères. Warm, doughy, cheesy bites of heaven, Pão de queijo is the perfect compliment to beer, wine, coffee, or simply on their own. Between a carnivorous, non-stop meat frenzy and this special cheese bread, it made for one of the greatest lunches I’ve had in years, on a day I needed it the most.

  1. Loved the show. I want to do the BBQ and I loved the opening. Wish you the best with Katrina. Think about it, if she can handle you, the cancer will be no problem.

  2. Phil,
It is truly great to hear from you again! We understand how difficult this past year has been for you and Katrina and the mere fact that you keep doing a show at all during this time is unbelievable and well appreciated!

Please give my best to Katrina and know that you and she continue to be in my prayers.

    God bless,
    Steve

  3. Phil, If you still remember, you helped me through a trying time(not on the same par but) and I can only wish that you feel the support of the community that you have garnered. I wish you and Katrina all the best and the strength to see you through this.
    Take care!
    Kirk

  4. Thanks guys. I appreciate your support and kindness. It’s been a hell of a year, but we’re looking forward to making up for lost time once this is all behind us. Thanks again for being supportive of not just the show, but of us.

  5. Glad to hear a new episode–but more glad to hear that Katrina is kicking cancer’s ass. Loved the show. I’d recommend suggesting that people not listen over lunch, as I did, to avoid choking on those unanticipated zingers you throw out. You made my day, Phil! :)

  6. Thanks Judy! If I can make one person laugh today, it’s a good day. :-)

Welcome back! Great show. Had me laughing throughout. I’d forgotten how much I love your bitterness!
